The lost letter

by Lynn Anderson   May 29, 2007

I'm sorry.
That is all I can say.
To you I haven't been loyal.
I have drifted the other way.

Into someone else's arms.
Because you were not there for me.
It really didn't mean any harm.
You would never really see.

The true lies that I hide.
Deep within my soul.
That have been happening for a long time.
These feelings will never go.

For this other person.
Has been beautiful to me.
So I have been thinking.
Your not the one for me.

Don't forget our past.
Don't forget your future.
You knew we wouldn't last.
I wish I could have said this sooner.

Forget about me.
I'm not the only girl.
Who has let you be.
To sit with all your thrills.

Let me be myself.
Its the only way.
I can be taken off your shelf.
This is the most I can say.
