Red, White, & Blue

by Dawn Davis   May 29, 2007

We live each day without a thought,
forgetting what others have gone through..
Families broken, loved ones parish,
all for our freedom for which we should cherish...

Our red, white, and blue..
Today we shall rise...
The moment each year we stop to remember,
they fight for what is right,
the American pride...

They, the ones that have given their lives,
they, our Husband, brothers, father, grandfathers...
Look around you, you shall see them smile down on you..
Our Wife, mother, sister, Aunt and my favorite,
even You!

A baby girl sits in wonder,
"Hello there,"
"Where is my daddy, have you seen him today??
I sent an angel to guide his way..."

Shes proud of daddy, and all of them!!
They give away it all for our freedom...
So stand tall, be proud,
a moment of silence, and smile....

Take a moment and pass a little prayer,
for the ones fighting to give us this right
They need you,
Fighting for our freedom,
Our Red, White and Blue!
