Verses of Inner Pain (Collaboration)

by Simple Sensation   May 29, 2007

Inner pain is our clubs name;
A family in which we can all gain.
From depression, to self harm,
Eating disorders and abuse,
Addictions are equally painful too.
Our family is where we all understand;
The pain hurts this much is true
But with this family - you CAN make it through.

Unlovable, worthless, broken down, ashamed
Empty rush of furious nothingness will remain
All you feel is deep humiliation and
Thinking you don't have a thing to gain
Each day you will wake up feeling lame
Tormented and twisted left suicidal by the pain
This is the depression that on your life moulds and stains
There is no escape no getting away
This is what we go through each and everyday

Another body, laced with ribbons,
adding more and more each day,
the ribbons bleed such crimson red,
just to make it through a single day.
and in the places no one see's
are the burns inflicted on the soul
3rd degree, 2nd degree, 1st degree burns,
anything to make the emptiness feel whole

Their fragile self esteem had hit the abyss of rock bottom;
Searching for perfection were they.
Resented themselves more and more,
With each and every bite - thoughts screamed
Your fat. Ugly. Worthless. Nothing.
And masses of others also had a similar solution;
Some binged ate. Eating whatever could be found.
While others starved; striving for power over both body and mind
Alone in their pain. Now they all lie, deep inside the grave.

Drowning the soul in vodka, gin,
Or anything that can be gotten
Stealing from the people who care
because all of the control has gone
and the track lines show up both arms
Remembering nothing from the night before
The only purpose left is to feed this addiction
before things fade, and falls from sight

His father's belt leaves loads of scars;
Scars so deep, they will never fade.
He was only trying to protect his mother,
Protect her from the belt. Whip. Her.
For she is ill; and he is unemployed -
Needing a relief, just a little bit of power
He hits both him and her. Rapes his own daughter.
These scars are too deep. They will never fade.

Through self-harm and depression
Eating disorders and different forms of abuse
We watched our lives become lose
But I know its all just life, pain dictating how you live
Or how much hope you can give...
And I may be here today, but maybe not tomorrow
Because our inner pain we may unwillingly follow
Until in our graves our bodies are cold and hollow

    Wow.
    You all did an amazing job.
    One thing though; moulds< molds.

    Other than that this is an amazing poem.
    I don't really get the first two stanzas, more because I wasn't sure what you meant... like if it was a family doing this, or like society.
    But, I believe it could be used as either; after reading.
    Because, society does this, and many families do as well.

    Amazing job.
    loved it.
