Mystery of Your Soul

by George   May 29, 2007

What is it lies within your soul,
I want the truth, I need it whole.
Would your life much better be,
If it had stayed apart from me?
Or is it truly as you've said,
At thought of me, your fears have fled?
I'll never know, can never see,
The truth thats only known by thee.
If its true, what I you've told,
Then gift you have of heart of gold.
But if the truth is something grim,
And kindness be naught but a whim,
I plead your honest soul upon,
To break my heart and soul anon.
For rather would I suffer pain,
Than ignorance over me reign.

WOW! That last line is great! We all would rather have the truth, no matter how it hurts, than to live our lives unaware of how others truly feel. Good job!

Your use of language and rhyme in this is superb, and it flowed really well too.
The last 2 lines are so very true. All in all a great poem x
