The Island

The vast sky was a fiery azure,
A pretty sight, of that I'm sure;
It reflected upon the choppy sea,
Just like his smile has been on me.
Took a walk along the rocks,
Saw the birds fly away in flocks;
Tunes of love seeped into my mind,
As I thought of the boy I left behind.
I knelt down with a stone at hand,
and wrote his name upon the sand;
Although the sea washed it away,
It's carved in my heart and here to stay.
I walked on by as a seagull flew,
It seemed to say, "he's waiting for you!";
And as I looked up to the sky, amazed,
The clouds gathered to form his face;
And it shall be with me everywhere I go,
I know because I miss him so.
