Gypsy [Etheree, Double]

by Twisted Heart   May 30, 2007

With
A smile
She teases
Bringing you close
To the edged shadows
Dancing with the moonlight
She twists your heart around her
Stealing your breath with her cunning
You feel lost inside her eyes and voice
As you slip helplessly inside her thoughts.

Now you're tossed inside the litter of pain
Crushing you with a tempered heartache
Stealing your soul as your mind cries
Sweet surrender of your breath
You welcome her caress
As you yield your soul
Laying your heart
At her door
As you
die.

Etheree Form was discovered about 20 years ago by an Arkansas poet Etheree Taylor Armstrong. (what a cool name) It has a structure much like the nonet, except that it has an additional line.

Absolutely Amazing! As usual your writes draw me in and I cannot wait to know how it will end. I go back and read it over and over. I loved the topic and the tale of how mysterious the gypsy is and how she will steal your soul with your permission. I loved every word of this and thought it was absolutely flawless.
