Goodbye

by Liz   May 31, 2007

Into the shop
Two pups and a mom
Sitting there hoping
They'd live to see dawn
In a small little kennel
packaged in plastic wrap
On a scalding summer day
It's was like a death trap
We raced to the register
And demanded them free
He gave one to my mother
The other to me
But the mother just lay there
In chess she'd be a pawn
And we truly knew
She wouldn't live to see dawn
So we showed her the pups
One last time
There noses touched so softly
As if to say Goodbye.

That's sad. I hate when I know animals or people aren't going to live through the night.
You did a great job with the flow,
and I loved the emotion. <33
    Keep up the good work.
    5/5
