The Storm

by SamiJo   Apr 19, 2004

Lightening strikes, thunder rolls,
the wind outside is getting cold
the sky is beginning, to turn black
rain is pounding on my back
the sky lights up in surprise
long enough for me to look into your eyes
envy of the storm, misery of the rain
your eyes seemed to be, filled with terrible pain
this night had been so perfect, why'd it have to go wrong
just a few moments earlier, we were dancing to our song
who would've thought, this storm could ruin our night?
after everything in the world, seemed to be so right?
but as the lightening struck, so did the words you said
those little words "its over", were dancing around in my head
your words are like the lightening, my heart is like the wind
your words are striking harder, how can it be the end?
your eyes are identical to the color of the sky
they're turning black and now im sitting here wondering why?
why did i let you, lead me on this far
why couldn't i have wished, for love on another star
the storm is getting worse, my heart is hurting worse too,
why cant i, just find one who will be true?
you turn around and walk away, just leaving me standing there
the one question in my mind now, is "did u ever really care?"
you've turned and walked away, and left me all alone
it's so hard for me to believe, that you're really gone
i will never forget your smile, nor will i forget your kiss
i guess everything happens for a reason, but i dont know the reason for this
