A Boy & A Girl

Here's a story sad but true,
About a love long past due,
A boy and girl that met by fate,
And an act that made it disintegrate,
Things got hard and times were rough,
So the girl went on and made it tough,
She gave her heart to someone new,
Thinking it was what to do,
Knowing it was wrong inside,
But too stupid because her pride,
So the girl kept going way to long,
Although she knew that it was wrong,
She dug a hole way too deep,
Her secrets that she could not keep,
Until it overflowed like rain,
And then the boy felt all pain,
He could see it in her eyes,
He knew her well and knew her lies,
He couldn't understand it though,
He couldn't bare to let her go,
He begged and pleaded for her to stay,
He opened his heart and she pushed it away,
The boy who wanted nothing more,
Than to have her waiting by the door,
To come home and to see her face,
Her smile, her laugh, her sweet embrace,
This girl was everything, his whole life,
This girl was meant to be his wife,
So in a moment that came and went,
He got the message that she sent,
It was time to put it out,
The flame of love, the fear of doubt,
So he walked out on his own,
He left the life that he had known,
But the girl never wanted it to end this way,
All she wanted was him to stay,
To her it seemed he didn't care,
Sometimes she felt she wasn't there,
She should have never lost her sight,
His love the beacon of pure light,
Every night she sat and cried,
She thought of all the times she lied,
She thought of how her love must feel,
How the pain was all too real,
But by this time it was too late,
The Boy healed his heart and couldn't wait,
Now that was the problem with this love you see,
It’s not about you and it’s not about me,
Love is a friendship that constantly grows,
Where it ends, no one knows,
You have to try and make things right,
There’s no point to fuss and fight,
If you love someone than let it show,
Otherwise you'll watch them go,
And yes dear friends, its true you see,
Because that stupid girl was me.
