Before I Put On My Makeup

by Jenni Marie   May 31, 2007

Before I put on my makeup
My eyes will fill with tears
Taking a deep breath to calm myself
Remembering the pain of the last few years

Before I put on my makeup
Remind myself things will be alright
Each and every single day
Trying to keep fear out of sight

Before I put on my makeup
I'll smile a sad, tired smile
Try and make myself remember
That life is worthwhile.

Before I put on my makeup
I get to see the real me
The unhappy, uncontent girl
That nobody else gets to see.

**This in no way reflects how I feel, I was given the title.**

It's so beautiful, but it ruins it at the end when you're like "this is no way how i feel i was given the title"
what makes poems meaningful to me is when they are written from the heart. idk it just ruined the whole mood ... i'd erase that if i were youuu haha but it's such a beautiful beautiful poem !!!
