Synthetic Beauty

by modern day barbie   May 31, 2007

Positioning herself in front of the mirror,
The flat iron heats by the sink.
A fake "maiden's blush" shall bepaint her cheek,
In the natural color of pink.
Skin-colored concealer will hide
The bumps and beauty marks.
She lines her eyes with a pencil
And her lashes with gunk the color of dark.
Add a dash of glitter to reflect the light,
And give her the aura of an angel.
While dreaming of a romantic Saturday night,
She fashions her hairdo with spray and gel.
Rolling on the lip gloss,
In optimism of sealing the night with a kiss.
She's ready to flaunt her synthetic beauty,
Hoping she'll be the girl he just can't miss.
