Cigarette

by sHaTTeReD4SiLeNcE   May 31, 2007

Smoke still lingers in the air
I closed my eyes and lean back
Memories came flooding back
The glitter of his eyes
The teasing smiles we shared
Memories I tried to forget
But cannot be forgotten
Every memory I recall
Twists the knife still lodge
In my broken heart
Digging deeper still
Shaking my head, I try to forget...
I get up and light another stick
Smoke fills the room again
Suffocating me and my misery
