Holocaust

by Never Let Go   May 31, 2007

You imagine
The pain in their eyes
The sorrow in their walk

Their twisted memories
Lay behind their broken hearts.

Their hope has faded,
And faith has been shaken.

Your eyes swell at the thought.

Just imagine
Fathers
Mothers
Brothers
Sisters
Children
Friends
GONE
A shiver through your spine.

Shattered life.
Hopeless future.
No significance.

Only the thought of survival,
Or not?
The horror.

[I wrote this after going the the Holocaust Museum in DC]
