When you get to me.

by Teria   Jun 1, 2007

When you get to me.

Oh, heaven awaits so patiently, sitting calm and still.
Trees sway from side to side, the million on that hill.
Beautiful surroundings fill each wondrous mind,
leaving all emotions so completely far behind.

As our minds fill with peace, our bodies slowly ease.
The memories we once had never seem to cease.
Only peaceful thoughts run through my mind,
leaving all emotions so completely far behind.

Just as heaven, I sit and I await for the day,
my lover comes from oceans so far away.
But, until that day I cease my lonely, weary mind,
for, when you get me there'll be nothing to hide behind.

I liked this poem and the flow it carried. The stanzas did a great job of trasitioning into each other and each line fit well with the previous one. 5/5.
