Getting Up For The Let Down (amiable version)

by Kalgalath   Jun 2, 2007

Here we are,
Baby once again
We've almost got as far,
For it to almost end

If I fail,
At least I gave it something
You're the one who is likely to bail,
And not be the one confronting

We sometimes show our emotions,
Letting them run liberated
But there is never any devotion,
Something I've always hated

I keep trying and trying,
And you lead me astray
You just keep lying
It seems, everyday

Yet I keep going for it,
Always wanting more
Although I never get,
Anything of yours

It's never really that long,
Maybe a week or so
We will never belong,
With that unique lover's glow

Although I have a great aspiration,
That maybe someday we'll be
Together for a relatively long duration,
Just you and me

But I think I'm getting up for the let down
Too much wishful thinking on my part
But maybe someday you'll be around,
Just to obtain my heart

(the opposite poem i wrote of this is Getting Up For The Let Down (hostile version))

Hmm.. the flow is slightly off on the 2nd, 3rd and 7th stanzas but other than that it's well written and very good
