Dancing on the Edge *Contest*

by Run out of words   Jun 2, 2007

Words thrown around,
tears spilled about.
And before they fall to the ground,
they gently touch my mouth.

Yes the same mouth,
which you kissed in the rain.
Yes the same mouth,
through which I whispered words of pain.

You've got me strung up like a puppet,
dancing to your tunes.
And once in a while you set me free,
yeah once in a blue moon.

So I'm not used to freedom,
you shouldn't have let me go.
Being you puppet and dancing to your tunes,
is all I seem to know.

I can't roam around this world,
have you seen how big it is?
I'm merely just a innocent girl,
who can't deal with all of this.

I need to be under your wing,
I need your support.
I need a song to sing,
And yours was the only one that brought me comfort.

You decided it was best,
for me to be on my own.
But what about the rest,
what about all the love you had shown?

You decided everything,
so when can I have my say?
Your words still ring,
when I think about the day you went away.

I was your puppet,
and I had made a pledge.
I wanted to dance for you forever,
but now I'm dancing on the edge.
