Nothing But A Child

by Tricky Daze   Jun 2, 2007

Everything starts like a fairy tale;
With a craziness you submit yourself with lust.
You cannot think that time you are just,
Nothing but a child.

After a time hours wouldn't be enough;
You get eager to share all your times.
To be both like sometimes,
Nothing but a child.

But marriage wasn't just like it seems;
He always acted like he is the boss.
Then I thought the only solution was,
Nothing but a child.

Finally my son was born like a miracle;
So similar he was with his dad.
I didn't know that after wards I had,
Nothing but a child.

Just shocked when I learned a car killed him;
So tired for years I felt without him no pith.
He just left me all alone with,
Nothing but a child.

Dedicated to all the mothers that gave their husbands to death

    Very sad poem. I loved the repeition of "Nothing but a child". That was very effective and it kept me drawn into the poem. As for the topic, I think it's great that you dedicated this to mothers who lost their husbands. 5/5
