Beauty of the Night

by Chemistry   Jun 2, 2007

Darkness creeps in
As the sun cascades,
down from the auburn sky
Slowly, then, materializes- the moon
In front of my very eyes

A silver platter lay on a black silk
-where stars are spread about
I lie on the grass spread beneath me
As I watch the grand show
from the moist emerald ground

Silent harmonies blow in all directions
Gently chilling as it hits every inch of my face
Softly making my hair flutter and dance
As I tilt my head up and gaze

From my eyes- I see a million crystals
Drawn upon the velvet black
Mildly blinding, each time it twinkles
All around- front and back

A work of art- true beauty at its best
This is how breathtaking our world can be
When dusk comes the same thing happens
Yet, the simple beauty of the night,
We refuse to see
