Another broken chain

by Solus   Jun 2, 2007

The thunder clap of broken will,
a shattered chain shows I'm losing still.
The beast roars within its cell,
my maddness is winning as you can tell.

Coaxed from deep inside my shell,
I was wrong and so I fell.
I wondered if I should take a chance,
I had forgotten my wounds from the lance.

Through sorrow I find another broken chain,
this creature thrives on my darkest pain.
Look unto me and see were evil has left its mark,
it consumes all hope and love like a shark.

Excellently written dark poem, with very powerful imagery. Second stanza is my favorite. Your wording in this one is great.
