For a contest!

He Oughta Know That By Now

A few thousand hidden smiles
Have withered into frowns
After floating up to cloud nine
I'm finally falling down.

Twinkles bright in my eyes
Are faded spots of dust.
What I thought was love and passion
I realize now was lust.

Secrets that I used to keep
Don't mean anything at all.
Pictures I worked hard to get
Seem so petty and small.

Hours I spent wondering
What that look had meant,
Are thought of as wasted time
That could be better spent.

Outfits I wore to impress
Don't have the same appeal.
Emotions he could penetrate,
I rarely ever feel.

He couldn't see my love then
But found out along the way.
It took enough of my life
For those feelings to stray.

People change and so have I.
I got over him somehow.
Enough time has passed so,
He oughta know that by now.

Awehh ! I love this. I got the feeling that you were trying to impress like a friend that you liked ut he was oblivious and once you lost feelings for him he finally figured it out. Dunno if that`s what you were going for with this one or not, but I still love that ! Your imagery is amazing in this piece, really stood out on the screen. Great job.

Wow that was a good piece of poetry, and I enjoyed spending my time reading it :) The flow was magic and the words were so descriptive I felt I was feeling your pain.
