Let You Down

Let You Down

Where has that orphan gone?
lost in a hurricane's song
a piano plays in the mist
we never had even one kiss
sometimes, no matter how much you wish
There are some things in life you miss.

Oh, but I never wanted to let you down
this is for all things lost but never found
Pray you'll forgive if I slip away
I never knew if there would be this day...
But it has come. It has come.

Standing alone at the ocean's edge
a need to escape a heart's pledge
Staring aimlessly, a future to make
Just drowning inside to forget these mistakes

Oh, but I never wanted to let you down
this is for all things lost but never found
Pray you'll forgive if I slip away
I never knew if there would be this day...
But it has come. It has come.

All i am is ever lost and found and lost again
To wake up and see my heart's run away again
And when his lips graze down my neck and shoulder
All i can see is your sad eyes that smolder
My mind, consuming me in guilt of my reckless heart
That only dreams of love, unable to be torn apart.

Fallen to my knees, these agonizing cries
The tears that burn worse than fire, in my eyes
I can't even promise to be there one day...
But when theres nothing to do, all i can say..is..

That I never wanted to let you down
I'm sorry for a love lost instead of found
I'm sorry I've betrayed you, but I've slipped away...
I don't know what else to do, what else to say...

Except that I loved you, like no other has loved you that way.

Omg... i don't know why nobody commented, but this is truly good (and i have the honor of being first commenter!) :]

i've let down some people, too, and this really comes across as a sweet apology. it also makes me feel the love held beneath so much rejection. thank you for this sincere write =)
