Breath of the Sea (326)

by NinjaGirl   Jun 3, 2007

The breath of the sea
Hides all my tears
The rush of the tide
Drowns my fears.

The warmth of the ocean
Exposes and exploits me
The sun makes me shiver
And the breeze makes me free.

I'm tired of just sitting around
With my hands in my lap
And my head hanging down.

Perhaps we were never meant to be
That's what I hear in the shells
Brought about by the wildest sea.

I think I believe that mermaids
Live in the Lost City of Atlanta
Just like I believe in Easter Bunny,
The tooth fairy and Santa.

The breath of the salty sea
Makes me feel light headed
Just like I feel pain
From the thorn in my side, there embedded.

The breath of the sea
Helps me to cry
It calms me, makes me feel safe
And makes me want to try.
