YOU THREW HER AWAY

by sadeyes   Jun 3, 2007

A child was born in the usual way
With hopes she would be great
As years went by she fell short
Of what her mother wanted from her
The girl she tried so hard to be good
But her mother could not see
The dreams she had the little girl could not be
So she threw away the little girl she knew
And forgot whatever she could do
Pain and hurt became her life
Without any end in sight
On the streets the girl did live
Until she could begin to work
On her own she stayed for so long
Until a man came along and stole her heart
Years have passed and her family to her was unknown
Until the day she came face to face
With the woman who threw her away
The girl remembered her face and who she was right away
The woman looked at her and never even saw her
As the child who she threw away
Her never just forgot
And she walked away
