Long Corridors.

by Daphne Darling   Apr 20, 2004

I walk along a dark passageway,
Walking into the Unknown darkness,
Where I walk, Brave men dread to pass,
In the shadows of the night,
The angel’s watch upon us all,
God’s eye upon the children of the night,
Watching over us all, keeping us safe,
His mighty hand helping us along,
His hand guiding us along this path,
His dark children, us who are of the night,
His knights of the twilight hour.

Men and boys come to show us him,
We fight them off with his cross,
And tell tem of the man they call God,
We tell them he loves us all the same,
That even though we are of the night,
We are still his faithful children,
He is our guiding light in the dark,
He shows us the paths solemn treaded,
He shows us where to plant our feet,
He shows us his will we follow it,
We his children of the blackest night.

Never take us to be something else
Take us in for what we truly are,
We that sit in a deserted church at night,
Praying to our one true god in heaven
We that sit in a crumbling building,
We that stand in worship where none wish to,
We that have his will on our heart forever,
We pray to our lord god in heaven,
That he might send someone to understand us,
That for once will would not be judged by appearance,
That for once we would be accepted in the church.
