Even Better

I realized something today.
I looked deep inside of me.
Something inside felt wrong.
Then I found something I couldn't see.

It was very unexpected.
But what I found I learned
Was what I felt all along,
A love that made my heart burn.

What I thought was real
Was simply a tatoo.
It was how I used to feel,
But since, hadn't known what to do.

What I thought was love
Was simply a memory of the past.
But what I found is better,
A feeling that might last.

It's not a love that will fade
I will have it to the end.
For my heart is aching with pain
For the love of my new found friend.
