You were once my best friend, The boy who held my heart. Then you were the person Who tore my life apart. I wanted to hate you I tried with all my might. But I couldnt stop the dreams That came to me each night. It was harder than you know To watch you every day And know that I was alone In every single way. As the years went by Our friendship fizzled down Until all that was left of us Were the ashes scattered round. We became a memory, A whispered story of loss. The past was a fine line That we didnt dare to cross. But you reached across that line And gave me a little tug. You pulled me back into your life - Your apologies embalmed me like a hug. We are just regaining our footing On this shaky friendship ground But with you nearby, I know My steps Ive almost found.
