Everything was silent
As everyone turned their heads
He stood still in the doorway
His one true love was dead
tightly clenched in his fist
Was the ring he had to give
He'd bought it just the night before
If only she had lived
As everyone watched him
He walked up to where she lay
He whispered in her ear
"I'll be with you in a day
I'm taking my life
And I'll see you soon I swear
I'm sorry I wasn't by your side
Forgive me for not being there."
He gently kissed her cold cheek
And a tear rolled down his
He couldn't believe what had happened
Couldn't believe God had done this
After all they had planned on
and everything they had dreamed
He couldn't believe how hard it was
Things were not what they seemed
He slid the ring upon her finger
And turned to walk away
He'd done what he had come to do
He'd said all he had to say
He walked out without one word
And they found him dead the next day...
