What Happened?

What do you do when your future-seeking friends,
Leave you behind?
Will they still come back to see you,
Or not even give you the time?

Remember how we used to sit around,
Talking about nonsense?
Will we still have time for that,
Or have your quest for new friends on your conscience?

It's true memories do fade,
They get blurry and hazy over the years.
But wasn't it you that got me through tough times,
And helped me though all the years?

I'm not asking you to shadow me,
Each and every day.
But it hurts when you can't do a thing,
When memories leave and you're friends fade away...
