Train

by jack   Jun 5, 2007

Sitting on this train
Devising my plan
Thinking what i could, should and can do

What could i have done
What should i have said
What can i do now?

Your alone,
I'm awake
And somehow when I'm with you nothing is fake

I see your face in this picture
Thats were i will always see you now
My memory has gone blank
My eyes are blind
and I'm still sitting on this train
Hoping, just hoping that it will bring me back to you
Somehow find it's way through the dark fog and lies,
Breathing heavily and wanting you desperately

But now Knowing that i have to get off this train
Is it me getting off
Or you pushing me?

    Another great poem Jack.

I like this poem a lot because I had to read it a few times to understand it. Is it about losing someone? I think the 'dark fog' is a great representation of the fading clarity in someone's memory, when another person is no longer there. I especially like the ambiguity at the end - I like poems that make me think and this one did exactly that.

This is a very mature poem Jack.
