A Child

by sadeyes   Jun 5, 2007

A boy laid a flower
ON the street where she died
I just stood there by his side
Not a word was spoken
But I saw tears run down his face
He asked why were you standing there
When the bullets started to fly
I reached for his hand
But I guess he couldn't see me where I stand
I said the girl was good and pure
She was achild who never knew
That there was evil in the world
She sat there on the street that fateful day
When your enemy walked her way
But she was killed as he got away
And you froze as she died
The boy turned to look around
He didn't even see me standing there
Than a frown came across my face
Because as the boy kneeled down
And started to pray
It was me that boy killed that day
No wonder he couldn't feel me take his hand that day
