What is real beauty

by gless   Jun 5, 2007

My hardened outside repulses.
People see me and walk away.
They don't know what they are missing,
Needless to say

My face may not be pretty.
My body unaccomplished.
But I do not want to differ,
To change is my final wish.

Inside I have spirit,
An inner glow, too bright,
People cannot bare it,
They cannot stare into my light.

So when they all walk past me
I wear a smile on my face.
They will never know
How sweet my heart can taste.

I offer them my sympathy
For it is I with my head held high.
People leave confused,
Asking themselves why.
