Teddy Bear

by sadeyes   Jun 5, 2007

I sat on her bed every day of her life
I loved the hugs and kisses I got every night
Now I sit on this shelf that is up so high
I just keep trying to figure out why
I haven't seen my little girl in days
I feel so lonely and cold not being on the bed
No one in the house told me she was dead
Until one hour her father came in
He picked me up and said Hi old friend
He continued to say
He wondered what I had to say
Said he wish that I could talk
Maybe than he'd know what was in his
Daugther's heart
He asked if I knew that she was sad and blue
Or if she told me that she wanted to die
Not a word did I speak
I just sat there looking at him
So back on the shelf I placed with care
To watch life pass by
Without my little girl there

I really liked this one, by mostly its meaning behind the poem. The wording didn't jump out at me, but I loved the flow.

    Poor teddy :(
