and your hair wasn't combed back
you were wearing dark colors
and a extra large hat

I could see the pain in your eyes
as the teacher called your name
the tilt of your head gave it all away

images of you stayed with me
as I tried to do my work
I couldn't seem to focus
on anything but you

My best friend was hurting
and I didn't know what to do
You didn't seem to want to talk
and you mumbled when you did

when the bell rang I didn't move
I just watched you walk away
it wasn't like you to act that way

The next class was basically the same
you favorite class is science
yet you didn't do the work

or why you wouldn't speak
