Dear Father

by Beautiful Chaos   Jun 7, 2007

Father come and hold me tight,
Inside your arms I'll be alright,
You keep me safe, you keep me warm,
You've helped me weather every storm.

Sometimes you yelled and I would cry,
But nothing could make your love a lie,
You never wanted to see me ache,
I know you hurt to watch me break.

I've made mistakes but you cheer me on,
No matter how many lines I've drawn,
You'd cross the desert just to say,
You love me more than yesterday.

I never doubt you'll try your best,
To teach me all you do possess,
To help me to the path I seek,
Pick me up when times are bleak.

I'll love you always for who you are,
Luckier than some shooting star,
With you standing by my side,
I'll never have a need to hide.

When I read this for the competition you had it entered in, I knew it was fantastic. It reminded me so much of my father who passed over 12 years ago. Wonderful write. Very touching.

Your passion of love for your Father is felt in this write. I am sure your Father will really enjoy this read as well. Maybe one day our daughter will feel the same about me. May your heart be filled with peace and joy each and everyday.
