Civil War

by Michael D Nalley   Jun 7, 2007

Two nations struggling in one womb
Holding to the heel to escape doom
No trespass in his Father's sight
Could keep him from his birthright

One bore a sin the other bore a grudge
Free will or destiny you be the judge
Father to son master to slave
Obedience to that inevitable grave

Since Cain has slain Abel the world has bore
The fruit of civilization and the decay of war
We gained knowledge of evil and paradise was lost
Freedom comes with a good plan and a holocaust.

The Son was offered and the Son was freely given
Love heals the wounds and sins are forgiven
Is there anything civil about nations at war?
Will men ever learn to live in peace forevermore?

I liked the topic in those and it was reality that you tried to talk about...The flow was great
    And my fave lines were;

Love heals the wounds and sins are forgiven
Is there anything civil about nations at war?
Will men ever learn to live in peace forevermore?

    So true,

I wonder why did you write "forevermore" I could rhyme better by " forever". But the poem is outstanding as always.

Sir, this poem was an unforgatable poem as myself lived my childhood under a civil war in middle east. i know war is danger and everything but CIVIL war is like two brothers fighting for no reason, so it s up to us to open our mind and understand where it will lead us?
truly this was a great poem Sir.
