I cannot love yet

by Bonnie Rose   Jun 7, 2007

Oh how age does love so long,
passion may wander, but my soul endures,
what my heart may not -
wondrous as it may be.
He comes, and he goes,
like a visiting romancer,
who's love does blind my eyes.
but my love, do not approach me with your lips,
as if a meager kiss could charm my sad heart.
your soul is not mine, in the passing of midnight
and i cannot believe in you,
i cannot love yet,
for you are what you will be.
