Silence

by Ryan C   Jun 8, 2007

They walked down the street,
Silence echoing in every step,
Beneath the soles of their shoes,
A wave of realization.

Twelve children,
Sparking in their teens,
Knowing the harshest of knowings,
Cut with their own depression.

An outward wave of knowledge,
The epicenter deep within their own hearts,
Their eyes gray with life,
Their expressions hardened by the truth.

Their silence a wave,
They walked their entire life,
Spreading realization,
Coloring people's eyes.

With every step they took,
They were closer to infinite,
For they were not best friends,
They were now only heroes.
