The Cold November Rain

by Reggie   Jun 8, 2007

It started around noon on the first of November
I saw her face crying a million droplets of rain
I knew that something was wrong
But I never thought that rain in November
Was possible to fall

I thought only maybe if I couldve saved her.
From the rumbling rubble
And the shattering glass.
She couldve thought of me as a different person
But then I again was wrong

From the cold November rain
There came a thundering howl from the ground
This opened up a hole and swallowed everything it could.
So there I was sitting down next to her.

She was screaming for help and yet I could not reach her.
She was buried too deep into the ground and I was stuck up above everyone else.
I thought I was selfish for not being able to save her.
From the Cold November rain which shattered a lot of mothers hearts
And broke a lot of fathers pride.

How cruel and unforgiving was the cold November rain.
It killed so many people
And it destroyed many families dreams.
They thought it was only a simple shower of rain that would end any minuet.
But it was a wrong thing to judge even for a small amount of water.

For the very second it hit the ground
It gave a small little quiver
Then when the rain continued the ground awoke
And quaked

Until there was nothing
But stone.
From that cold November rain
Everything was lost.
