Bye, Bye, Butterfree.

Bye, Bye, Butterfree.

Oh dearest nightfall,
how long has it been
since I sat awake and
watched you arise?

A million years
within your time;
but only a day
within my mind.

How shallow is
the brightest sun?
The fallen stars,
upon this earth?

Too shallow to stay
within the darkness
for just a few more hours.
Bye, bye, butterfree.

For, the darkest nights have
been set apart to flee.

Everyone has asked me about 'Bye, Bye, Butterfree" and what butterfree is. Well, I got the title from a contest, which is a pokemon contest. So, I'm guess 'Butterfree" is a pokemon of some sort, eh. And, in this poem 'butterfree' actually represents the night[darkness].

    I liked this one, i dont follow pokemon, i am 19.
    But i liked the way the word Butterfree was used, it did flow with the poem which was perfect by the way!

    I really wasn't supposed to read this, but ehhhh we won't tell. [Since it's for my contest.]
    But.
    I really, really like it.
    I haven't read any of the other entries, so I don't know how well you've got it, but with that description and emotion. BOOM.

    Anyways.
    I love your choice of words and "actions" here. This was penned beautifully. I normally do not like nonrhyming, but you pulled it off most gorgeously and with such grace.
