White bridges

by shadowknight   Jun 9, 2007

The bridge glisten of specked gold,
Light shone through every crack and crevice,
a long winding river of electric blue rode the land beneath,
Beauty reached every corner of the land.

A soft whispering,
like the soft sweet sounds of forgotten souls,
calmed my soul and relaxed my body,
like the flow of life had began.

The smell of freshly baked bread,
Made my mouth twinge with delight,
like i could already taste the soft baked treat.

I reached the bridge of paradise,
a peaceful sanctuary,
away from the harsh cold of life,
every one left me,
now it was my turn.

I stepped on the white bridge with golden specks,
took in every smell and sight,
i listened to every sweet sound,
i felt myself drift away.

i would never return to the bridge,
i knew i would go somewhere better,
i gave a final glance into the deep blue waters,
and recognized a figure.

Between the golden fish that swam so peacefully,
was the thing i dreaded to face,
the only thing that would stop my endeavor into bliss,
i saw my reflection.

i was told to stay strong,
to never cross the bridge,
i was told i was brilliant,
i was God on a pettistool.

i was praised for every little thing,
but as i looked down toward the monster that was me,
i saw only sadness and fear in my eyes,
the eyes of loneliness.

i slowly turned around,
and stumbled off the bridge,
i was told i knew better,
i was told to never cross the white bridge.
