Life's beauty i may not even hope to find,

by Bonnie Rose   Jun 9, 2007

I can feel it coming on again,
etching its way upon my bones,
like a phantom unmoved.
the light has flown.
disenchanting any love,
i could ever know.

i have let my dreams
feel more real
than i do myself.

life's beauty i may not even hope to find,
again once more,
for my spring has passed,
and the lonely trees in winter now stand.

it seems a day,
i am apart of that lonely void.
oh how romance has betrayed me.

I visited your poem because you voted for me. It was just curiosity.

After reading it I’m leaving full of smth I cant explain. Reading and reading again, re-fining and still feel that theres something remained for me to understand. Probably only know what is really underneath these words.
It doesn’t matter if you used oxymoron or any other “hidden stuff”. Who cares about strict literature definitions?
This poem is great without any explication.

This piece of yours endears me exceedingly. For a short piece, it was packed with a fine, metaphorical imagery and poignant thoughts.

An enjoyable read, as always! I gave it a 5/5! I hope you all the best and take care. ~Debbie
