Voice my word

by Lynn Anderson   Jun 10, 2007

Tell me how you feel now.
Now that I am gone.
Does your heart skip a beat?
When you listen to our song.
Do you drift away into disaster?
Dwelling on what you had done wrong.

Stare into the sun.
Waiting for your questions to be answered.
All you can take, my voice, one word.
Put in in your heart.
The little things you treasure.

Tell me why you cried.
The day I left.
Ask me how the bullet felt.
Deep within my chest.
Notice the obvious, that I am hurting too.
Believe me when I say.
It wasn't because of you.

Now that I am gone.
I'm not coming back.
I will stand my ground and hold it.
Hate can mean anything.
Unless you can control it.

Such a simple poem with a good sense of feeling. The point of view is nice and original.
