The Door

by Krazy   Jun 10, 2007

The frustration burns
as you say goodbye
the door that has been open
for so long
silently closed

the anger recedes
pain sets in
i lost it all
giggles, smiles, twinkles in the eye
all washed away
riding on waves of tears

your smile reappears
voice echoes inside my soul
i feel your arms around me
but you're no where near
that door was shut

i promise
this door will never be shut
that memory has yet to fade
along with your honey eyes
regret consumes me

turning my head
a glint of hope springs to life
your laugh was there
that laugh of pure happiness
only crushed to find no one there

my fire has been eternally put out
nothing but smolders
hope is of no use
all is lost

that door was closed
locked and never to be opened again
the same way you opened it

Wow this was so sad I loved how you described everything that you were feeling but you also used the metaphores of the door. Each word of this poem spoke to me in a way that hasn`t happened in a long time. it was all so magical but I think that the ending would have to be my favorite part, because when you`ve lost someone you care about thats exactally how it feels. The only thing that I can critique on is to make sure that you capitalioze your I`s I know its just a little thing but it really takes away from your writing ability those things. Nice work over all though.

Some of your lines throughout this piece were truely amazing. Very powerful and written in such great depth.I love how you put so much into your poems. It makes the emotion really strong. ~mel

The first one you quoted is describing how she can feel him, but only in her mind because he was no where near, that door was shut a long time ago.

the second one is a memory, she's thinking about the time he said, i promise this door will never be shut. she thinking how that memory has yet to fade.

    make sense?
