Richard, My Brother

by Corinne   Jun 10, 2007

Richard, my brother, was never the "other"
Parents deemed us a perfect fit
We never fought, though custom said we ought
I was truly blessed because of it

But as we got older, love's warmth grew colder
We became as strangers, he and I
Silence, now the measure of our lost treasure
Does he, as I do, wonder why?

Oh Corinne, I just love how you worded this piece. Especially that last line, very cool. I'm sure that he wonders why too. I bet he'd be greatly touched by this poem. I know I would, it's very touching.
