Child Abuse

by Xx Chrissi xX   Jun 10, 2007

How is a child to know what's right,
When all her parents do is fight,
They fight each other and they yell at her,
She has to call her daddy sir.

Then one night it gets even worse,
When her mummy and daddy don't only curse,
She feels the pain and her eyes go blank,
And into her own little world she sank.

She awoke again, lying on the floor,
And found herself staring at the cupboard door,
She could hear the yelling, the smacks and the screams,
And begins to withdraw into her own dreams.

Dreams of a family like the ones she sees,
A family where she doesn't have to beg on her knees,
Where the only pain would be from falling down,
And her smile wouldn't always conceal a frown.

She thinks she deserves what she gets,
And about this, every night, she frets,
What can I do to make them love me?
What can I do to make them happy?

She doesn't know what she's doing wrong,
But she knows she is, it's been happening so long,
What's she to think when it's all she knows,
She believes that they reap the seeds she sews.

She's not the only one to live like this,
She's not the only one who 'walks into his fist',
And yet she feels so all alone,
Trapped in this world, she slowly walks home.

Wow I am so sorry you have to go though all of that. I had a friend that got abused and it scares me to hear how bad people are. The good news is i love the way you wrote it. Very good and to best of luck to you and your family.
