Freeze

by Lyndsay Kalyta   Jun 10, 2007

Staring at our picture
Frozen in its frame
After tomorrow
Things won't be the same

You're leaving and I
Now must let you go
I care so much about you
And I hope I let you know

A promise is the best
I can give you today
I've given up on words
Because I've said all I can say

I know you are coming back
I know you'll still want me
Not only because you said it
But in your eyes I see

I'll cherish your memory
And love you when you return
Getting by without you here
Is something I'll have to learn

But just think, if time
Would only just freeze
I would be able to keep you
Forever, here with me

i love the imagery you used through this poem, everything relating back to the aspect of "freezing"...you did a great job without being too metaphorical...6/5!

Very endearing. I liked the little twist at the end, 'twas simply lovely.
