Behind her smile

One little smile
Covered so many tears
No-one noticed
It was fake all these years

Hidden behind that smile
Was an agonizing past
Hittings and beating
And scars that will last

so much pain
That this girl held within
But this type of pain
Went deeper than skin

Hit after hit
Harder and harder each time
Bruises and scars
Such a painful crime
