Here I Am

by Alyssa Marie   Jun 10, 2007

Here I am, while time keeps fleeting
Waiting, as he could be cheating

Here I am, like nothing's wrong
because as far as I know, you won't take that long

Patience from me; ever true
Waiting since I'm in love with you
but moments later, I could be crying
Should I trust that you're not lying?

I said I'd swear I'll stay forever
For hope won't lose me, and you won't, ever
Thoughts may not be doubting never
Because your charm, has proved me, clever
Don't say you won't stay forever
I'll be here with the sunny weather
Even if the rain gets wetter
You can trust, my trust is better-

-So, sorry if you want to get her
If you lose me, there's no forever
Doubting thoughts can't save you, or her
So here I am
Waiting, for forever

This one went straight to my favourites. Flow was flawless. Infidelity is something that will more than likely affect most of us at some point in our lives, I think people can relate to this and really understand what you're saying.

You captured the feeling of being in a situation that you don't really want to be in but not being able to leave it because of the way you feel about the other person. Excellent poem.

    5/5
