She Flies on her Own Wings

by Ixora   Jun 10, 2007

Too much pain
too much to take
too many reasons
why shes a mistake

she tried her punishment
tried the knife
tried to find any reason
to keep going with her life

but as she lies awake again
and her tears are streaming down
the realization hits her
and she begins to frown

She decides to just give up
But finds herself in combat
her hope forces her to go on
Another thing shes failed at

But soon the stars darken
And everything starts to look the same
The days and nights are solemn
And her hopes a much smaller flame

Her eyes and heart grow cold
Now she truly doesn't care
Receding now to a different darkness
But in this one shes unaware

Here there is no more pain
She exists the same way she used to be
A nobody, a nothing
But finally shes free

I love the title, again another heartfelt emotional write, flow and rhyme is perfect. Hugs, Willow
