Watching the Track Meet

Watching at the track meet
People running laps
With people tripping over their own feet

I am slowly going crazy
Why are these things so long?
My sister, who’s in it, says ‘It’s off the hizzy’

I’m tired of watching people jumping into sand
Jumping into water
It just goes, jump jump jump land

Look at all those people
Emptying their shoes full of sand
‘Gonna go to the concession stand

The place is over-crowded
With smelly athletes
I don’t belong here; I can’t put on my own kleats

I’m going to have a fit
If I see one more false start
If purgatory exists- well…this is it
